Join Dr. Josetta Thomae as she teaches about Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health! ECMH refers to a child’s capacity to develop socially and emotionally.  Healthy development for infants and toddlers significantly depends on adults\, who can help them experience\, regulate\, and express emotions.  Early childhood educators have an exceptional opportunity to build nurturing relationships that can support social-emotional development and promote infant and early childhood mental health.  Participants in this workshop will learn how to create a high-quality environment\, build nurturing and responsive relationships\, and promote self-regulation and emotional expression in the early childhood classroom to help prevent challenging behaviors before they arise.\nAfter attending this session\, participants will be able to:\n–       Define Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health\n–       Explain the importance of relationships/attachment on social/emotional development for infants and children.\n–       Describe various methods that can be used to build nurturing relationships in the early childhood classroom.\n–       Identify specific techniques to create a supportive environment in the classroom.\n–       Describe techniques to improve self-regulation and expression of emotions in the classroom.
